長久以來意圖(intention)是用來預測和解釋行為(behavior)的重要因子。 因此，許多理論也用來研究影響人們意圖的因素，例如，TRA, TPB, TAM, UTAUT, MM, Efficacy, ECT-IS, (Shiau & Chau 2016; Shiau etal., 2020). 然而，意圖無法充分 預測和解釋行為的原因，尚需要深入研究。 Wu and Du（2012）在《Toward a better understanding of behavioral intention and system usage constructs》研究中，基於前人對意圖和行為關係的分析結果，進一步了解使用者行為，提出了三種使用構念（actual usage ，reported usage和assessed usage）來檢查使用者使用意圖和系統使用情況，批判性地研究和比較了這些核心變數及其與關鍵技術接受決定因素的關係。 研究發現：(1)智力與決定因素的相關性遠高於智力與使用因素的相關性，因此智力的差異大於使用因素的差異；(2)Bl無法很好地取代使用；(3)三種 使用構念中，評估使用構念與Bl的高度相關最多，實際使用構念與Bl的高度相關最少；(4)研究人員應該在每一項研究中都檢查實際使用和評估使用，以揭示系統 使用及其前因之間的真實關係。
